I Want to Get Married Now, Any Suggestions?

Seem like your ready to get married. Are you sure? Marriage is a big step in anybody's life, and if you're totally ready, then go for it. There might be one problem with your situation, right? There is no man in your life to married, and in some cases a woman to get married to. Don't give up, okay. I believe in you, so that means you should believe in yourself.

Believing is one thing that separates failure from success. When you believe in something that means you are waiting patiently. Haven't you notice whenever you're not willing to wait for something, you slightly have doubt about it. That's the reason for you wanting it to happen so fast, because you feel like if it doesn't happen now, then it will never happen. So, you find yourself being this way with all of your relationships, rushing and hoping to be committed to fast in the relationship or else something bad will happen and the relationship will fall apart like the rest of all of your other relationships. Bummer! Do you notice the trend?

If you want to get married, my suggestion to you is this...

"If you are not happy being single, you will never be happy in a relationship. Get your own life and love it first, then share it". I don't know whose quote this is, but I totally feel where it's coming from. I know of too many girls that are miserable about their life because they don't have a man and think they will be happy when a man is in it. Wrong, it doesn't happen that way sweetie.

When you are happy while single, you understand that a man is not your maid (he's not obligated to clean your gutters, or mow your lawn when you meet him just to show you he's into you or respect you) when you first meet him. When you are happy while single, you also understand that you don't have to always have sex for him to stay with you. And just because you do whatever he says and put your needs and wants aside for him doesn't means that he will love you forever and decide to commit and marry you. I'm sorry, but these things will do you more harm than good in all of your relationships.

I want to get married; you want to get married; we all want to get married. Abe believe it or not, all men want to get married. They may not admit, but they do. First, they must find that woman that understands them and love them for who they they are, not what they can do for her. Are you that woman? Then prove it! That's all.

Analysis: GOP sees tax opening in Obama court win

WASHINGTON (AP) -- For President Barack Obama to turn his Supreme Court victory into a clear-cut political win this fall, he must do something other candidates have failed to do: make voters care that GOP opponent Mitt Romney once embraced the health care policies he now fiercely criticizes.

If Obama can't do that, then Romney may find it easy to fire up conservative activists who despise what they label "Obamacare," while also attracting moderate voters who simply dislike it.

And the Republican will have a new anti-tax argument, thanks to the high court.

On the policy front, Thursday's Supreme Court decision was a huge victory for Obama. It's trickier politically, however, because the court upheld the health care law under Congress' power to tax people, a rationale that surprised many.

In essence, the five-justice majority said, the penalty that Americans will start paying in 2014 if they refuse to obtain health insurance amounts to a tax.

Obama has insisted the fee is not a tax. He also notes that poor people would receive subsidies to buy insurance, which amounts to a tax cut. But his lawyers cited the tax-powers argument in their Supreme Court appearance.

Romney and fellow Republicans immediately launched a line of criticism that often has been potent: Democrats - in this case, Obama and his allies in Congress - are too eager to hike taxes.

"Obamacare raises taxes on the American people by approximately $500 billion," Romney said in his brief remarks.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told Democratic lawmakers to "stand by your tax increase or stand with us to repeal and replace Obamacare."

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said: "The Supreme Court has spoken. This law is a tax."

There's a political problem with that argument, Democrats quickly noted. Romney, while governor of Massachusetts, also required almost every resident to obtain insurance or pay a fee. As former Obama aide Neera Tanden put it, "If you call the mandate a tax increase, then Mitt Romney increased taxes in Massachusetts."

That might inoculate Obama from Romney's tax-hike accusations, if Democrats can make it stick. But Romney's GOP primary opponents repeatedly failed when they tried to wrap "Romneycare" around his neck.

Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty reminded Republican voters that Obama "said that he designed Obamacare after Romneycare." Texas Gov. Rick Perry said, "I think Mitt is finally recognizing that the Massachusetts health care plan he passed is a huge problem for him."

Former Sen. Rick Santorum tried hardest of all. He said Romney's health care legacy made him "the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama."

Romney simply stuck to his criticisms of Obama's health law and avoided detailed discussions of its similarities to his Massachusetts initiative.

Some Democrats think Obama and his well-financed ally groups will do a much better job of painting Romney as a hypocrite or flip-flopper on health care.

Romney's GOP opponents "weren't exactly the most formidable of politicians, and they lacked the resources to really make it an issue on TV," Democratic strategist Doug Thornell said. Romney "is the godfather of the individual mandate and health reform," Thornell added, and thus ill-positioned to lead a fight on the issue.

Jim Kessler, co-founder of the Democratic-leaning group Third Way, said: "The individual mandate that Romney invented in Massachusetts is now a tax. That's a real pickle for Romney."

Republicans have options. They can have surrogates and lawmakers carry the health care battle against Obama, leaving Romney as far removed as possible.

Or it may turn out that voters don't care much about what Romney did as a one-term governor several years ago. That would free him to lead assaults on "Obamacare" with minimum damage.

If that happens, Thursday's court ruling could work against Obama's re-election hopes. Recent AP-GfK polls have found that more Americans oppose the 2010 health care law than support it. Opposition to the "individual mandate" - it would require most people to get insurance or pay a fee - was even deeper in a March poll.

Such findings delight Republican operatives. For Obama, Thursday's ruling was "probably the most damaging of all possible outcomes," GOP strategist Mike McKenna said.

"Identifying the mandate as a tax shears away all of the pretense," McKenna said. "It will energize everyone on the right, even those with deep reservations about Romney."

Another Republican campaign veteran, Terry Holt, said: "Obama might have his law, but the GOP has a cause."

Obama seemed eager to avoid the tax debate Thursday. He did not mention taxes in his 1,200-word speech before cameras.

The president's allies might be more willing to engage. If Republicans insist on calling the health insurance fee a tax, said Tanden, who now heads the Center for American Progress, "then the only person in America who has implemented that policy is Mitt Romney."

AP sources: Tentative deal on student loans, roads

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Congressional leaders have reached tentative deals that would prevent a doubling of student loan interest rates and revamp the nation's transportation programs, congressional officials said Wednesday. If completed, the compromises would resolve two vexing issues on which lawmakers face weekend deadlines for action.

House and Senate leaders have tentatively agreed to a one-year extension of today's 3.4 percent interest rates for subsidized Stafford loans, said a congressional Republican who spoke on condition of anonymity to reveal the issue's status. The measure ? which would affect 7.4 million students projected to get new loans starting July 1 ? is the same package that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Tuesday they had crafted between themselves.

At the same time, congressional leaders have tentatively agreed on a two-year bill to overhaul federal highway programs, Senate aides said. The government's authority to spend money on highways, bridges and transit systems expires Saturday, as does its ability to levy gasoline and diesel taxes. They spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal wasn't final.

Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., top Republican on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, said bargainers would drop a requirement that the government approve the proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline that is to run from Canada to Texas. House Republicans had pushed for inclusion of the Keystone provision, but the White House threatened to veto the bill if it was included.

Inhofe said another GOP provision blocking the federal government from regulating the toxic ash generated by coal-fired power plants would also be jettisoned.

House Republicans won concessions from the Senate on environmental reviews of highway projects, Senate aides and environmentalists said.

Critics have complained that requirements for environmental impact statements before highway construction projects can proceed have caused unnecessary delays and driven up costs. Under the agreement, the average time it takes to complete a highway project would drop from 15 years to about eight years, they said.

The agreement also makes other kinds of transportation programs eligible for the same pool of money that funds transportation enhancements, which means there will probably be less money to go around for biking and walking projects, they said.

The aides said they were working to put the agreement into legislative language, which must happen before House and Senate leaders formally sign off on the deal.

Congressional leaders are talking about combining the highway and student loan measures into a single bill to reduce potential procedural obstacles, and hope to vote final approval this week. Lawmakers hope to then leave Washington for a July 4 recess.

Earlier Wednesday, House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, told reporters that lawmakers were moving toward an agreement on the highway and student loan issues.

Boehner made his remarks a day after Reid and McConnell said they'd struck a bipartisan agreement that the White House later said it supported. Those statements put pressure on Boehner to accept the deal, which if enacted would avoid antagonizing millions of students and their parents in an election year.

President Barack Obama highlighted the student loan issue during visits to college campuses this spring amid a campaign year in which the struggles of many families to cope with the limp economy has been a defining issue. Hoping to prevent him from using the dispute in the fall campaign, GOP presidential challenger Mitt Romney said in April that he backed an extension of the lower rates. GOP congressional leaders said the same.

In recent weeks, the key dispute has been over how to pay the student loan bill's $6 billion price tag.

Under the agreement, the government would raise $5 billion by changing the way companies calculate the money they have to set aside for pensions. That change would make their contributions more consistent from year to year, in effect reducing their payments initially and lowering the tax deductions they receive for their pension contributions.

Another $500 million would come from increasing the fees companies pay for the government to insure their pension plans, linking those fees to inflation.

In addition, $1.2 billion would be saved by limiting federal subsidies of Stafford loans to six years for undergraduates.

The White House threatened to veto a House-passed bill extending the lower interest rates because it was paid for by cutting a preventive health care program that Obama helped create. Republicans blocked a Democratic version in the Senate paid for by boosting taxes on owners of some privately held corporations.

Congressional leaders are discussing combining the student loan bill with the highway legislation. Any extra funds raised by the student loan measure could help pay for the highway legislation.

The last long-term transportation bill expired in 2009. Congress has kept programs going through a series of nine short-term extensions.

The bill would overhaul transportation programs, giving states more flexibility in how they spend federal money, step up the pace of road construction by shortening environmental reviews, impose new safety regulations and boost funding for a federal loan guarantee program aimed at increasing private investment in highway and other transportation construction projects.

The Senate passed a bipartisan, $109 billion transportation bill in March. House Republicans were unable to pass their own comprehensive transportation bill because of divisions in their party.

Instead, they passed a three-month extension of current programs coupled with controversial provisions that would have required the government to approve the Keystone XL oil pipeline and blocked the Environmental Protection Agency from regulating the toxic ash created by coal-burning power plants.

Giant cross on government land: Supreme Court declines cases, for now

The Supreme Court refused to take two cases in a longstanding church-state dispute over the 43-foot Mt. Soledad cross on federal lands in La Jolla, Calif. The court expects that lower courts may yet resolve the issue.

The US Supreme Court on Monday declined to take up two cases involving a long-running dispute over whether the display of a 43-foot cross on government land atop Mount Soledad near La Jolla, Calif., violates the separation of church and state.

The cases offered to once again bring to the high court the thorny issue of whether religious symbolism on public property violates the First Amendment?s prohibition of the establishment of religion by government.

The hilltop site has been the location of a cross since 1913, with the current large cross on the hilltop since 1954. The underlying land was owned by the City of San Diego but was taken over by the federal government in 2006 through an eminent domain action by Congress.

In a three-page statement explaining the court?s decision not to take up the cases now, Justice Samuel Alito noted that a final decision had not yet been issued in the lower courts in California.

In its most recent ruling, the Ninth US Circuit Court of Appeals remanded the cases to a federal judge to determine whether there might be a remedy that would resolve the constitutional issue short of removing the cross.

?The court of appeals emphasized that its decision did not mean that the memorial could not be modified to pass constitutional muster [or] that no cross can be part of [the memorial],? Justice Alito wrote.

?Because no final judgment has been rendered and it remains unclear precisely what action the federal government will be required to take,? Alito said, ?I agree with the [Supreme Court?s] decision to deny the petitions [to hear the case].?

He noted that the denial was not a ruling on the underlying merits of the cases and that ?the federal government is free to raise the same issue in a later petition following entry of a final judgment.?

Two years ago, the Supreme Court took up a similar case examining the constitutional implications of an eight-foot cross erected as a war memorial in California?s Mojave Desert.

In that case, the justices reversed a lower court decision ordering that the cross be removed from government land. Instead of approving the removal, the high court instructed a federal judge to consider allowing a land-swap that would convert the land under and around the cross to private property.

In referring to the 2010 case, Alito noted that a court-ordered demolition of the Mojave cross would have been viewed as an act of government hostility toward religion.

The La Jolla cross has been a target of litigation since the 1980s. Over the years, nonreligious features have been added to the site, including a large American flag and nearly 3,000 plaques and other displays honoring US military veterans.

The latest version of the cross saga began in 2006, after members of Congress voted to seize the hilltop site by eminent domain. The action transferred the property from the city to the federal government, but it didn?t end the church-state controversy.

In August 2006, two individuals and the Jewish War Veterans group filed suit in federal court charging that the presence of the cross on federal land violated the First Amendment?s Establishment Clause.

A federal judge disagreed, ruling that the addition of secular plaques and other war memorial items to the long-standing cross rendered the hilltop site primarily nonreligious.

A three-judge panel of the Ninth US Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the judge. The appeals court said the current display amounts to state endorsement of religion. But the court remanded the case back to the federal judge to decide what actions, if any, could be taken to allow the display to comply with constitutional requirements.

TANZANIA (eTN) - Responding to outcries from tourists and business travelers between Tanzania and Zambia, Precision Air, Tanzania?s fast-growing, private-owned airline, has launched three weekly flights connecting Tanzania?s capital of Dar es Salaam and the Zambian capital of Lusaka.

The direct flights to Lusaka are expected to boost tourism and business travel between Tanzania and Zambia; all members of the Regional Tourism Association of Southern Africa (RETOSA) once lacked direct air connection between their capital cities.

With the introduction of this new route, now it takes just two hours to fly from Dar es Salaam to Lusaka, cutting flying hours from nine when connecting through Johannesburg.

The Dar es Salaam to Lusaka route is the sixth international route for the antelope-tailed airline. Other routes are Johannesburg, Hahaya, Nairobi, Entebbe, and Mombasa. Domestically, Precision Air covers big towns in Tanzania.

The airline?s founder and chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Michael Shirima, said the launching of the 16th destination to Lusaka was another milestone in the growth of the company with the aim of exploring the whole African aviation market.

"The Lusaka and Lubumbashi flights came about after critical research and findings on business viability, and Precision Air realized a gap to be filled in air transport, as well as an opportunity to integrate the different but common cultures," he noted.

Mr. Shirima added that the launching of the new destination was a testament towards commitment to the expansion plan. "As an airline growing fast but carefully and diligently, we are certainly proud of including Central and Southern Africa into the growth path," he remarked.
